Technical indexability treated as a release test

A sitemap alone does not make a page indexable. The release is tested like a product: response, HTML, canonical, internal paths and protection boundaries have to agree.

Review date: 28 August 2026
Scope

Audit scope

  • HTTP status, document language, title, H1 and canonical
  • robots.txt, meta robots, sitemap and structured data
  • Normal HTML links, orphan checks and protected backend paths
Evidence

What the audit found

Public content is present in delivered HTML and does not depend on an interaction.

Googlebot, Bingbot and OAI-SearchBot may fetch public pages; API and administration remain excluded.

Every report has an inbound link from an indexable page and links back to services, contact and related content.

Implementation

What was implemented

  • A deterministic validator checks every known public route and follows internal links for error responses.
  • Schema describes visible content and connects articles, website and organization through stable IDs.
  • Search Console and Bing signals are recorded separately from local and live HTTP verification.
Boundary

Evidence boundary

A successful technical test or accepted sitemap proves neither indexing nor position. Those decisions belong to the search engine.

A release is clean only when source, static export and the real production response tell the same story.
